Future job development for 6-yr old

6-yr old seems like an age filled with hopes! Our son HG's future job has been migrating between all kinds of professions he knows. Usually there's been a direct link to what he's into at the moment, e.g. when he was into automobiles he wanted to become a driver etc. Only exception is his recent determination for becoming a scientist, which I don't find a link to his current fascination - Going to an elementary school and also going to multiple after school activities, he's been too busy to be attached to single domain of interest but rather being distributed - to name a few, Pokemon and craftwork.

Above all, he retains general (strong) fascination for the nature. And he seems to have started developing admiration for those people who discover new things about the universe, and he also looks like he has realized his maternal grandparents are the those people (Here I noticed the influence from the family or anyone close definitely matters).

One of his previous fads, or maybe it's just put on hold for now, is about outer space. Planets in the Solar systems are probably very easy entrance for kids just as they were for myself 40 years ago, but he goes way beyond planets (non-stellar bodies. I stopped there when in my youth), and seems to be into the things like the lifecycle of stars particularly the Sun, and all kinds of extra territorial phenomenons. Those mostly need to come with visual graphics on the scientific books he borrows from both local elementary school and Saturday Japanese school. But the level of fascination just mesmerizes me.

Whatever he chooses at a time, we as parents just let it roll, just need to make sure we're not limiting the access to his needs. That is a whole different thing that's worth another blog post.

One thing HG definitely follows his mom's path - obsession with this microscopic artwork and completion. He likes to take over mom's leisure time hobby.

One of the future must-visit is observatories, like this one at Tellus Science museum that we've been to a few times but has never been open to public yet. We went to public view event at Georgia Tech, which was great and convenient.
